Andrea & Matt

Here's a few from Matt and Andrea's wedding.... They were so much fun... Game for anything... The day started at the Church, then on to the reception at her parent's home, then downtown to the riverwalk, then to a hotel, lastly on to the restaurant for dinner... Matt and Andrea, I hope you marriage will be as special as your wedding day was memorable... Congratulations....

Right Lane, Left Lane, Fashion Layne...

Layne was a blast, she wanted more of a fashion type of session. It was extremely windy and overcast. Didn't think we were going to get it in a couple of days ago, but the weather held out and we got some fantastic images... Here's a few...

Fun E-Session....

Andrea and Matt were a blast... They are fun, energetic, and good sports.... I'll be shooting their wedding in a week and a half... Found a new spot out at the studio... Thought the cactus would be cool, and the golden grass seemed to match her sweater...

The jump image was Andrea's idea, then I fine tuned it...

This was a fun session...

Wedding at the Vineyards...

Here's one from a wedding at the Vineyards on Friday... My assistant spotted this light post, and suggested using it (good eye Khrista). So I placed Melanie and Reggie under the light and just asked them to kiss, then had some fun with kisses... I thought this was a cool image... I showed the bride and she said, "I'm so glad I picked you guys to photograph my wedding". Weddings are so much fun, especially when the bride and groom are up for anything....

Baseball Senior...

Aaron is the twin brother of the Sarah (posted below). He's a baseball player (a rather good one), so I thought we'd make it a major part of the session. Who knows, maybe someday we'll be watching him in the Majors...

Monday's Senior...

Here's a couple from Yesterday's Senior Session... Sarah was a little shy at first, but after a few of my "corny" jokes, she relaxed and help me produce some stunning images. It's funny how some things can be seen from two different vantage points. Her hair was falling in her face. It seemed to frustrate her a little, but from my point of view, it's what makes her a pretty young lady. With a little patience, everything turned out great. I hope she likes her images...

Beautiful family session....

Here's a couple from a family session from Sunday. They live in a beautiful home right outside the city. The kids were well-behaved and they were willing to do whatever I asked them in order to get great images. The mom picked out all of the clothes which helped out tremendously. Way to go Suzanne! This was a fun session, I hope they like the images?

Downtown Wedding...

These are from a recent wedding... It took place at a downtown Historic church... Afterwards we went down to the famous Riverwalk with the wedding party. Of course all of the people there were clapping and congratulating the bride and groom. As they stood on a bridge over the water, the people on the boats were cheering. I know it made the bride and groom feel special and their day that more memorable... Everyone had a great time....

Artistic Senior Gal....

Tiffany was a blast... She warmed up pretty quick and I got some really great images... She reminded me of the actress Minnie Driver, however, Tiff is much prettier... We played with her scarf she brought... I teased her about looking like the afgan girl from National Geographic... That's so important, as Fuzzy Duenkel says, "go with your instincts". I asked her to wrap it around her head, and Ka-Chow... I like how her eyes really draw you in... The forecast was partly cloudy, but a few minutes into the session the clouds rolled in and it was another heavily overcast day...which meant it got darker faster... That's the thing about photography, you've got to work with what your given (the weather) and be proactive about it (make it work)... I hope she likes her images...

A Girl and her best friend...

Here's two from a recent senior session... She is a very talented young lady. She can play two instruments, and wants to be a doctor... The session was fun and my boys loved her dog... They talked about him for days...

Recent family sessions...

Here are two recent family sessions... The first is a mom and her two sons... They were a fun group... My mushroom joke worked for a few smiles, but they seemed to laugh more when I wasn't telling jokes... I like this high key image...

The next family... I photographed the oldest daughter's wedding over 2 years ago... They have a beautiful home on a nice plot of land. The dad built the pond (in the foreground of the image), right before his daughter's wedding. It is so cool... They were a fun group as well..

Been extremely busy with life....

I've been very busy with school, photography, and family. Saturdays are Soccer days in the morning and photo sessions in the afternoons. Sundays are Church in the morning and photo sessions in the afternoon. Monday through Friday are busy with school events, CK business meetings, working on images, and family time. Fortunately soccer season just ended (phew). I'm posting some images from sessions done over the last two months...

The beginning of our Soccer Odessey...

Today we had our first official soccer game in the Slate household. Colby (4yrs and under league) and Landon (8yrs and under league) seemed to have a good time. It definitely isn't World Cup action... but I think it's much more entertaining... I took some images from the game. Enjoy...

Recent Downtown session.....

Robyn is always fun to work with... She's a tomboy at heart... We went downtown this morning to make some images... Being Labor Day, I thought it would be the perfect time, no crowds, cooler temperatures, etc... It all seemed to work out... There were many guys, some old, some not so old that whistled and made comments about Robyn... She seemed to soak it up... There was one old man that wouldn't stop staring at her... He finally left, and she was relieved... Then finally there was a bellhop from one of the hotels came out with his camera, while he was still working, wanting to take her picture... He begged her to let him take her picture... Unfortunately we were finished and leaving... Let's just say, he was very disappointed... Can you believe people? It's really hard for me to phathom how blunt some people can be.... He definitely wasn't shy.... We had a fun time...

Special Maternity...

I had a maternity session with a couple last night. They've been trying to have a baby for a long time... Finally, it happened... To make it a little extra special I had planned to take some maternity images outside. Here in August, it's hotter than hot... Lisa and Chris were troopers (not only with the heat but my bad jokes as well)... No complaints... Oh, by the way it was 100 degrees for the high yesterday... We had problems figuring out the wind direction, we thought we did then it would change... So finally, we positioned her and the wind cooperated... Here are two from outside...one inside...

Artistic Landscape...

I saw this scene as I was driving the other day, and thought it would be a cool landscape image in the morning... So around 6:45 am I made my way out there... Overcast, so no brilliant sunrise, but my Artsy side worked a little PS magic and walla...

Colorful Summer Wedding...

Had a really fun time capturing this young couple's wedding... Her choice of colors really helped make these images... Thanks Ada and Lauren, you have great taste... Many blessing to John and Lauren, may your marriage be as bright and colorful as this day was...
