Cheers to Ya - San Antonio Creative Portrait Photography

We had the privilege of photographing the Randolph High School Cheer Squad last week. This is our second year capturing them. These girls are very well behaved, and courteous to boot. As the session went on the atmosphere turned silly and fun. We asked them to stand in front of the camera and make a silly face or do something worthy of watching, and the creativity began to flow. We had a good time and the images will be ones they will treasure for a life time. Not to mention a huge banner hanging in their gym for the rest of the year. They're famous now.... Here's a video to enjoy from the session....

Action Jackson: The Ultimate Optimist - San Antonio, Central Texas High School Senior Portraits

Jackson came to us from SACS. We did his family portrait when he was five. He's changed a little since then ;) . Jackson is humorous, witty, animated, and totally optimistic. I asked him to explain his optimism, and he just replied, I see the best or positive in every situation. I told him of a situation that helps make his optimism easy to understand. The scenario, he gets up early one morning craving orange juice. When he gets to the kitchen, he finds out that there's only a tiny bit of OJ left in the frig. His response, I'd drink the little bit and wait till tomorrow to drink more. He just found out that he was accepted to attend Baylor University. He wants to study Digital media, which is the path to his goal of becoming a director or movie maker. He says he wants to create documentaries to help educate people and make a difference. His ultimate dream job would be to work with Steven Spielberg on a movie. As far as the session went, he brought his dog, which was funny because the dog didn't exactly do what we planned, but we got several great shots of him with his beloved pooch. We then went inside to create some images that would capture what he wants to become, a director. Jackson, you are full of life, you bring joy to all those around you (I speak for myself on this one). You're parents have done a tremendous job bringing you up. You have the right mindset, and guidance to make a huge difference in this world. I see a bright future ahead of you, so put on your shades, and hold firm to your faith, and your dreams. The movies you'll help make will make a difference. How do I know this? Let's just say, the little time I was with you, I saw a young man on a mission. Your passion for creating and your faith will make it happen, and I'm sure you'll entertain and bring joy to all around you in the process. You can see more of him here (video), and on our website as well....

Miss Enthusiastic - San Antonio Central Texas High School Senior Portraits

Keely is a senior at Randolph HS. She is also one of our 2016 senior models. She is an energetic, intelligent, joyful, and an outgoing young lady. She does just about everything at her school (track, tennis, student council to name a few). If I used one word to describe her I would use enthusiastic. Everything about her is happy, exciting, fun, and genuine. Her extroverted personality wins your attention every time. She wants to travel the world, and own her own business someday. Her dream is to become a professional model. Whatever she ends up doing, people around her will enjoy her presence daily. During the session for one of her outfits she chose her dance outfit. Irish dancing is her specialty (you don't see that every day). She did these jumps and leaps and for a second I thought I was watching PBS. Anyway, the session went smoothly and I had so much fun. Keely, where ever you end up, if it's settled down raising a family, or traveling the world, I know this for sure: you will enhance everyone's life you come in contact with. You just have this magic personality that edifies and entertains others around you. You've been a joy to work with and I look forward to watching your life span out. You can see more of her here and here (our website).

The Real Deal... San Antonio High School Senior Portraits

Kalli comes to us from FBA (First Baptist Academy). She is the complete package. What I mean when I say that is this: She's easy on the eyes (beautiful), very intelligent (brains), athletic (coordinated), very social, and most importantly, she knows her place in this world. Kalli isn't one to stay silent. She's definitely not afraid to speak her mind. That's one reason we get along so well, is because we are so much alike. I'm just a little more fermented than her. Kalli was a blast to work with. There's never a dull moment with her. Her energetic and out-going personality sucks you right in. Oh, did I mention the her sharp sense of humor? She understands my jokes, hehehehe. Anyway, the session was fun and we all had a good time. Kalli, you are a very special young lady. The sky is the limit for you. I don't know if the world is ready for your larger-than-life personality, but with the Lord's guidance, you will make an impact that will be seen throughout eternity. Hope you had as much fun during the session as we did. See more of her here (a short video link is also on our website).

A Really Wild Wedding.... San Antonio Portrait and Event Photography

We've known Nicole since she was in High School. When she contacted us to help capture her wedding, we were excited. To top it off, it was to take place at the zoo. Talk about a wild wedding. My favorites were the animals. The hippos standing up and opening their mouths during the ceremony were extraordinary. They also had an armadillo and an exotic bird to pet. And the animal merry-go-round was also a photographic gem. Any way, the evening came a went and we all survived being surrounded by wild animals, and the guests behaved too... Here's a short video highlighting the unforgettable, special day. Nicole and Greg, we wish you the best life has to offer. May your commitment to each other be cherished, honored, and life-long.

Everybody's All American... San Antonio/Central Texas HS Senior Portraits

Where do I start? Aleya has to be the most talented HS senior girl we've ever photographed. She's physically gifted (track and field high jumper/tumbling cheerleader), super smart (ranked 4th in her sr class of over 900), easy to converse with, and not to mention easy on the eyes. As we stated earlier on a FB post, she the most beautiful dweeb (her words not mine) we've had the privilege of trying to capture. She's authentic, the real deal, the pop in the tart, and the cool in the breeze. Whoever pursues her and wins her heart will surely get the complete package. Aleya is a wonderful young lady... every time we are around her we end up having a enjoyable time. Her respectfulness and sense of humor fit right in with my personality. It's almost like we are taken from the same mold. Anyway, the session went well. We ended up down at the creek, and let me tell ya, there were several images that were just breath-taking. You know when you get an image that just captivates you, well, we got several of those while we were there. I think we captured her personality, and then some. Aleya, there's so much we could say, but I will just leave it at this: Stay Gold.... (you may have to watch the movie "the Outsiders" to understand or read the Robert Frost poem), but you are something special. To see more images of her, visit our website by clicking here....

Lee HS Drill and Dance Teams - San Antonio Creative Group Portrait Photography

We had the privilege of photographing the Lee High School Dixie Driller Drill Team, and the Varsity Rebel Rouser Dance teams last week. The two takeaways I'll remember most is the young ladies respectful manners, "yes ma'am", "yes sir". Ms. Tina does a great job at teaching them respect. The second thing that really stood out was their gratitude. They really had a great time and showed much appreciation for having the opportunity to participate. I was definitely impressed. Here's a video from the session. Enjoy....

Myranda Makes Me Happy...

Myranda comes to us from Steele HS. She's a cheerleader (notice the title), so she cheers us up. Myranda is a very easy-going, casual yet sophisticated, fashionista. I hope that makes sense. When she's all made up she's downright gorgeous to the eyes. Did I mention she's extremely athletically talented. She did back handsprings without even warming up much. Her dress images are killer and I'll bet she's the only cheerleader that will have pics on the goal posts this year (unless this starts a trend). I see Myranda heading off to college with a million boys chasing after her. As the song says in her video, she's a "Supa"-star (she's a combination of Jessica Alba mixed with Eva Longoria). I have to mention the bugs. Not many people when they come out here like the bugs. Mom did a little traveling inside when Mr. Wasp came a "calling". Country living isn't for everyone, but it sure is peaceful for us. We had a great time capturing her personality and her images speak for themselves. Myranda, may your cheerful spirit edify all of those around you and may it lead to many, many authentic friendships along the way. You are fun to be around. You can see more of her on our website (in video format)...

CJs Model Comp Card - San Antonio Promotional Portraits

Christian is a close family friend of ours. She just finished up her first year of College when she got a call about modeling. This particular agency doesn't have many 5'11" blonde girls, so she called us to help her get a portfolio together and make her a model comp card. We had a fun time, and got some great images. I think this card will definitely help her get noticed.... it certainly captures my attention.

Tennis is My Game - San Antonio High School Senior Portraits

Jeremy came to us from RHS. Yes, he's a little late, but as the saying goes, "better late than never". Jeremy is a tennis player, and a good one. Good enough to get to State for his school. He's athletic, humorous, optimistic, and a respectful young man. I must say he can do the most real fake smile out of anyone I know. We decided on meeting at the RHS tennis courts to get some action shots. After about 25 tries we finally got the serving image (who said photography is easy?). Right after that we did an iconic portrait of him standing on the court with the school stadium in the background (so cool). Any way, Jeremy doesn't know what he wants to study in college, but he does know he wants to minor in Spanish. Here's more about him:
After graduation: Attend University of Texas
A Dinner Guest of his choice: Teddy Roosevelt - he had a very interesting life
One Wish: Everyone would listen more
One thing to do to Impact the World: Clear misconceptions and bring people together
Favorite Song: "Taro" - Alt-J
Favorite Quote: "You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great" - unknown

Here are some more images of him on our site in video format. Jeremy, you are a very personable young man. I'm sure your parents are really proud of you. The way your mom smiles when she's around you speaks volumes. Whatever you decide to do with your life, we know you will make an impact in the lives of others. Like we said yesterday, your future is bright, especially being a tennis instructor at the resorts in Mexico (hehehehe). Really though, the sky is the limit for you, don't settle for anything less.

It's Dollie Time: San Antonio Creative Team Portraits

I can't believe this is the 11th year we've been photographing the JM Dollie dance team. Either time doesn't seem to matter, or I'm getting old (and we know it can't be the latter of the two). We scheduled the session for early morning (this was a first) and it was pouring down rain. What else could you expect with all the rain we've been getting this year. Packed the vehicle and headed off. My great friend Christian volunteered to help me out, since none of the CK crew was available. She was a huge help. And the fact that every single dance teamer knew her. It was kinda like a mini-reunion. Anyway, we got set up pretty quick and within 40 minutes we were done. The girls chose their prom dresses this year, so we went with the glamour, backlit, glow-look. I used the ring flash for the first time with them and the images looked great right out of the camera. I think all the girls had a fun time and we were done before 9 am. Pretty cool way to spend a Friday morning... Here's a video from the session. Enjoy....

Mr. Personality - San Antonio High School Senior Portraits

Austin is a senior at Steele HS. He is student body president of his graduating class. He was also on the school's swim team, and recently starting getting paid to coach younger swimmers. Austin is an extroverted, fun-loving, family-friendly, and charismatic young man. I see politics in his future. For the session he chose his Texas Chubbies. Why not in front of the Texas Flag? The jump shot was one of Michelle's favorites. Austin is a swimmer, so of course we'd do some portraits in the pool. After he dried off, I knew we had to do a couple of shots in the studio. These images looked like they came straight out of a Sports Illustrated magazine. Austin was so much fun, we could have spent all day with him. Here's a glimpse into his life:
After graduation: Attend Texas A&M University - Mays Honor Business - future job in politics
A Dinner Guest of his choice: Thanksgiving with George and Laura Bush, because they are life goals, and are pretty much my idols
One Wish: Health and Happiness, assuming I couldn't wish for an infinite amount of wishes
One thing to do to Impact the World: Become a lawyer, to stand for what is right, and to back the people who I believe in, to make the best decisions for our country
Favorite Song: "When the Stars Go Blue" - Tim McGraw and "Urgent" - Foreigner
Favorite Quote: "Please tell me you're Republicans" - Ronald Reagan and "The best revenge is massive success" - Frank Sinatra

Here are some more images of him on our site in video format. Austin, you have enough personality for several people. Your joyful spirit is contagious. When people are around you your energy radiates into others and brightens everyone's day. I have no doubts that you will reach your goals of being involved in the field of politics. Our hope is for you to stand for the truth, to remember your place, and to use your influence and position to do what is right, even if it means standing by yourself. May your enthusiasm and extroverted pizzazz make a difference to all that cross paths with you. It was highly entertaining capturing your personality.

Bayou Belle - San Antonio High School Senior Portraits

Nicole came to us from RHS. She's a determined young lady. Her ambition is to attend ULL and become an OB-GYN doctor. She has a PRO-LIFE stance and is willing to help educate those who don't value unborn life. The title of this entry comes from a ironic happenstance. Nicole's mom is from Louisiana. When she was a senior in High School, the newspaper chose her to be a Bayou Belle. She had her portraits taken and published in the newspaper. Nicole, just like her mom, is the same age, and is planning on attending the same college. So to capture the story we recreated the exact same picture of her mom with Nicole. Who would have imagined, after several decades, two kindred spirits would be doing the exact same thing. It's great to see a daughter following in her mom's same footsteps (a totally unplanned coincidence). With that said, I now officially nominate Nicole as Miss Bayou Belle 2015. Here's a glimpse into her life:
After graduation: attend the University Louisiana Lafayette - to begin her career in the medical field
A Dinner Guest of her choice: Pope John Paul ll, because he has been a figure in my life that I have always looked up to and who I try to strive to be
One Wish: To come out of medical school debt free
One thing to do to Impact the World: To put an end to the unnecessary evil of abortion
Favorite Song: "Such Great Heights" - The Postal Service
Favorite Quote: "You see in the final analysis, it is between you and your God. It was never between you and them anyway"

Here are some more images of her on our site in video format. Nicole, you have a face to launch a thousands ships, the moral turpitude to lead those who will follow, the determination to end a modern day travesty, and the integrity to stand even if that means standing alone. May God continue to use you to help and encourage others, and save lives in the process. You are a one-of-a-kind.

Walt Disney Inspired Senior - San Antonio HS Senior Portraits

Clay came to us from Clemens HS. We've done his family portraits since he was little. Clay is an imaginative, laid back, casual, and optimistic young man. He absolutely loves theme parks. The fun, imaginative, and the more realistic the park, the more he loves them. He's been blessed with a family that has allowed him to travel around the country enjoying many theme parks. His absolute favorite ride is the Matterhorn in Disneyland. Clay is a big kid. I don't mean huge in body size, rather a child at heart. Here's more about Clay:

After graduation: study some type of resort / hospitality management, eventually work at a Disney Theme Park
A Dinner Guest of his choice: Walt Disney, great man would love to ask him about the parks
One Wish: lifetime passes to all Disney parks
One thing to do to Impact the World: be someone who makes the day of others around them
Favorite Quote: "Is it better to be feared or loved? Both, I want them to be afraid of how much they love me."

Here are some more images of him on our site in video format. Clay, I admire your child-like imagination. We hope you get to live out your dream of working in a theme park, hopefully a Disney park. If you're true desire is to inspire and give people a chance to escape the humdrum of everyday life with a day or week of fictional characters coming to life (it's the essence of who Walt Disney was), you will not fail. When you lose yourself in the process of loving and helping others, the Good Lord looks on us with favor. Pursue your dreams, and along the way, enjoy the journey. We enjoyed your session, hopefully, you did too....

A Fire Fightin' Beauty - San Antonio Central Texas Senior Portraits

Sarah is a senior at Clemens HS. Sarah is a quirky, creative, persistent, and compassionate young lady. Her silly side accompanied her during the session. Every time I'd turn around she'd be making the peace sign or silly faces. The thing I liked about her is how gorgeous she is without even trying. We set up for the first portrait with the Texas flag, and wowser, stunning image in the first frame. Sarah's dad is a fire fighter in our home town. And yep, you guessed it, she wanted to include something from the fire department. Since we couldn't go to the fire department (maybe next month), we did the next best thing, a composite. It turned out super cool. Here's a glimpse into her life:

After graduation: attend the University of the Incarnate Word
A Dinner Guest of her choice: JFK, I liked his views and is a major historical figure
One Wish: to be Taylor Swift
One thing to do to Impact the World: To make everyone more environmentally friendly
Favorite Song: "Blank Space"
Favorite Quote: "She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future"

Here are some more images of her on our site in video format. Sarah, you are a silly, fun, and down-to-earth young lady. The thing that stands out about you is your honesty. You seem to have a good perspective on life and don't say things you don't mean. May your adherence to the truth keep you and guide you throughout life. The thing I'll remember the most is that your beauty isn't a chore, it's like your quote, you can laugh without fear. Stealing a line from the movie "The Outsiders", "Stay Gold....."

Mr. Josh...

Josh is a senior at Madison HS. He played football and was on the wrestling team as well. Josh is a very respectful, calm, and funny young man. Josh and his mom seemed to know what kind of images they wanted, so we planned them out during the pre-consultation. It was raining during the day, but we both agreed to go ahead with the session. The weather held up (rained a little), and the sun even peeked through the heavily clouded sky for a brief moment. Josh has a really cool gold colored Jeep. He wanted some images with it, so we parked it where we could get the overcast sky in the background. The images turned out really cool. All in all we had a fun time, Josh learned some good football jokes, and we got some great portraits of him. Here's a glimpse into Josh's life:

After graduation: attend Texas State University, study something is Exercise/Sports science
A Dinner Guest of his choice: Robert Griffin III, favorite athlete
One Wish: To know where I'll be in 20 years
One thing to do to Impact the World: Bring Happiness
Favorite Song: "I Hold On" - Dierks Bentley
Favorite Quote: "Wish there was a way to know when you're in the good ol' days, before you actually lose them" - Andy Bernard - The Office (TV Show)

Here are some more images of him on our site in video format. Josh, it was a privilege taking part in your Senior Experience. You seem to have a good head on your shoulders and know what you want. We wish you to stay focused and achieve the goals you set for yourself. May you inspire many young athletes and teach them how to live and be respectful.

Energetic, Earnest, and Enjoying Life.... San Antonio Central Texas HS Senior Portraits

Emily came to us from Randolph HS. We photographed her sister a couple of years ago. Emily, as the title suggests, is very Energetic, Ecstatic, and most importantly Earnest. Emily is a little girl at heart. She wants to be an Occupational Therapist after she finishes her studies. When we were shooting in the hay barn, Emily was acting all country on us, and for a brief moment I saw her sister acting out the part. It was so weird. They don't look alike, and yet they do. What makes Emily beautiful is her zest for life. She's silly, and yet can talk about big issues. Even though we've only met three of the 6 members of her family, the three we've met are people you want to get to know and spend time with, because they make you feel good in their presence. I can't leave without mentioning the car. She brought her dad's 1966 Ford Mustang. Simply stunning, and the car wasn't bad either (hehehehe). Wish we had more time to work with it... Here's more about Miss Emily:

After graduation: attend Texas Tech University, study to become an Occupational Therapist
A Dinner Guest of her choice: Jordan Livingston, because she is my #1 best friend
One Wish: own a midnight blue Ford Mustang (car) fastback from 1965-67
One thing to do to Impact the World: Give those who are hopeless, hope
Favorite Song: "To Build a Home"
Favorite Quote: "Life is like a box of chocolates... You never know whatcha gonna get"

Here are some more images of her on our site in video format. Emily, you are an enthusiastic, candid, and energetic young lady. The thing that stands out about you is your personality. I can guarantee you this, when it comes to the dating process, your personality will win many suitors. It's your secret weapon. Your looks will attract, but it's your personality that defines your beauty. And you have plenty of it.....

Fashionista Courtney...

Courtney came to us from Steele HS. She's quiet, seemingly reserved (until you get to know her) and from my observation, loves fashion. Each of her outfits was carefully chosen (look at the images, her sense of style definitely shows). She can be silly but looking at her you see a beautiful young lady. She used to play volleyball, so her statuesque figure surely helped in that sport. She's intelligent, a member of the National Honor Society. Her future plans are to attend UT and study nutrition. Courtney was fun to work with. She has a special talent. She can hold a real genuine smile for a long, long time (rare among the seniors we photograph). I never once had to tell her to give me a real smile (must've practiced before the session, hehehehehe). Oh, and did I mention her out-of-this-world blue eyes. Yes they are real, no fakery done in PS. Here's a glimpse into her life:

After graduation: attend University of Texas and study nutrition
A Dinner Guest of her choice: Harry Styles, because he is a very interesting person and I've wanted to meet him for a while
One Wish: for people to be less judgmental and overall more loving and accepting
One thing to do to Impact the World: cure cancer or just spread positivity
Favorite Song: "Welcome to New York" by Taylor Swift
Favorite Quote: "Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value"

Here are some more images of her on our site in video format. Courtney, you are a beautiful young lady. You have a deceptive look. At first glance people see this statuesque model looking young lady. They probably think, she's out of our league. But open up a conversation with you and you'll discover, a normal, down-to-earth, friendly person. We hope your future is full of opportunity, and you take advantage of all that comes your way. Make this world a healthier place by teaching people all the benefits of proper nutrition. You were fun to capture....

A Taylored Original.... San Antonio High School Senior Photography

Taylor is a senior at Randolph HS. She's a cheerleader, athlete, academic achiever, and all around great gal. She plans on attending the University of Florida in the Fall. We've been blessed to have had the fortune of photographing Taylor throughout her senior year (the privilege of being our sr model/rep). Her dance outfit at the park with the horse carousel was a delight. Her actual senior session had several changes in weather. First it was overcast, then it rained, then the sun came out, and it got hot. The great thing about Texas weather is that it gives you a variety of different looks. We had a great time, enjoyed chatting with her and her mom, and got some fantastic images. Taylor, you are a beautiful young lady. You have everything going for you. You're like an all-American girl! We hope your future is as bright as you are, fun as you are to be around, and full of many, many memorable, and joyful moments. You will be missed.... Here are some more images of her on our site in video format. Enjoy.....

Making Our Own History with Dakota....

Dakota came to us from Steele HS. She's a member of the Steele Marching Band and NHS. With that said, you can see she's intelligent and creatively talented. Dakota was quiet and shy when we first met her (I think that's because she wasn't feeling well that day ;), but during her portrait session she was nothing but smiles and laughter. Her love of History revealed itself in our conversations. Her mom says that she was born in the wrong era. She loves the early years of American History so much that she plans of studying it in her educational endeavors. Ultimately, she wants to work in a living museum or some kind of historical place. I think it will be a perfect fit. Here's a glimpse into her life:

After graduation: attend Texas Woman's University and study History
A Dinner Guest of her choice: Theodore Roosevelt - He's my favorite person in history
One Wish: To travel back in time to witness historical events I've learned about, preferably the Colonial Period
Favorite Song: "Unknown Brother" by The Black Keys
Favorite Quote: "This above all; to thine own self be true" - William Shakespeare

Here are some more images of her on our site in video format. Dakota, we have a special bond from the first night we met (something I'll never forget). You are fun to be around, your quick wit kept me on my toes, and on top of that, you laughed at my corny jokes (never hurts to do that with people). I see in your future continuing education, while educating people about past history in the process, hoping people will learn from our past, never to again repeat the mistakes. You will help make a difference by being passionate about what you do and sharing it with others. It was a pleasure capturing your personality. We had fun in the process.

Jessie Girl.....

Jessica came to us from Randolph HS. She just moved here over the Summer from the Deep South, Georgia to be exact. She's athletic (she's plays catcher on the girls' softball team), intelligent (NHS member), and funny. Jessie (as her mom calls her) is very down to earth. She wants to attend LSU after high school and pursue a Veterinarian Career. We teased her that she'll have to have her own TV show, like the Incredible Dr. Pol or Aloha Vet. When Jessie showed up, I was blown away. Her hair and makeup were so exquisite we almost didn't recognize her. I think we truly captured her personality, and definitely showcased her beauty. Towards the end of the session, we were photographing her in the bluebonnets and my wife said, "she looks like Courtney Cox". I must agree, she's a dead-ringer for her. Here's a glimpse into her life...

After graduation: attend LSU and study biology (to become an animal vet)
A Dinner Guest of her choice: Will Ferrell
One Wish: a day where I could sleep in
One thing to do to Impact the World: Spread laughter and happiness (not like Santa)
Favorite Song: "Explosions" by Ellie Goulding
Favorite Quote: "Laugh at your problems, everyone else does"

Here are some more images of her on our site in video format. Jessica, our wish for you is that you continue to be yourself, engaging others in conversations and continue to make others laugh. Your future is full of many possibilities, so don't forget us when you make it as an animal doctor. I'll never forget your Saddam wave (so funny) and your best piece of advice was hilarious too.... You were a joy to work with.

Olympic Hopeful: Captured Keepsakes Creative Portraits

Andrea is a mom, and college professor, business entrepreneur, and marathon runner. We've been photographing Andrea since her engagement in 2004, and been documenting her growing family from the beginning. Her love of running has paved the way to the Olympic Trials in 2016. She's won a marathon, and plans of running in many more, including the Boston marathon this coming April. Since her marathon olympic qualifying time in Chicago, she's got her eyes on the trials early next year. She trains every day, running about 70 miles a week. Just think, that's like running to Austin from my house (mind boggling). I've been wanting to capture a portrait of her, and finally got the chance. She's been sponsored by Oiselle, a running apparel company. Once Andrea received her running gear, we scheduled the session. Andrea brought three components to her running attire, we photographed her in all three. She loves her racing outfit, and it just so happened to be the one we chose for the composite. Maybe next year, we will be watching Andrea running the streets of Rio in the 2016 Summer Olympics.... fingers crossed.

Capturing Personalities - Captured Keepsakes Senior Portrait Photography

When you come to Captured Keepsakes for senior portraits, you'll get more than good pictures. You'll get images that are not only creative, but specifically suited to your personality. We like to capture who you are and what you're all about. Being a teenager on the verge of adulthood, your entire life is on the precipice of change. In a short period of time, you're either off to college on your own, entering the working world on your own, or staying at home with a different set of expectations from your family. This can be a scary time, but also an exciting time as well. That's why we like to create portraits all about you, who you are and what you're all about. In a short period of time, your life will either play out to what you've always dreamed of, or take you in a totally different, rewarding path. Our goal is to be "Creative with a Purpose". Here we captured Keely (one of our senior models for next year). We asked her what was important to her and went about capturing it in one image. When you decide to get your senior portraits taken, consider what you want, who you are, and what you're all about. Then research photographers to see if they can deliver on your vision.

Winter Stay in Garner State Park - Captured Keepsakes Nature Photography

Every winter we get to visit Garner State Park. Camping in the Winter can be very cold, but it can also be sunny and warm. We got both types of weather in the 4 days we were there. Every morning I get up and wonder the park looking for great images. The scenery is breath-taking. The Frio River runs through the park and it's lined with Bald Cypress trees. Their roots cover the ground showing a glimpse of the underground vascular system and lifeblood of these flora giants. The key to getting great images is the willingness to get into the right position. For example, to get the river image below, I had to get into the water. I wore knee high rubber boots and waded across the rock filled bottom to get to the position I wanted. One of the boots sprang a leak. A slow methodical drip soaked my foot in the frigid water. But I toughed it out to get the shot. When I got back, I had a fire waiting to warm me up and help dry out the wet sock. Some times, going where most people won't go to get the shot rewards me with an image I'll be proud of. The secret to great images (ones you love) is first having a vision, then the willingness to get into position to get it. I've posted several images below.... Enjoy.
