First Impressions: San Antonio Head Shot photography

First impressions are huge in the business world; they are also important in other occupational fields as well (politics, law, anyone in the public eye, etc...). I know this sounds really shallow (for I am one that doesn't give as much weight to first impressions but do acknowledge they are real and are here to stay) but the impression you leave on someone the first time you meet them or when they see or read about you on your website, or social media site determines how people will perceive who they think you are. With that said, I once learned of a study conducted in a shopping mall where random people were stopped and shown two images. These images were of political candidates. Each person was asked to choose which one they might vote for. The results were stunning. Nearly 90% of the people chose the winning candidate (the one that was actually elected) solely based on looking at their picture. So what does this have to do with photography? Well, the image you place on your website may help or hurt you when it comes to drawing in new clients/business. You see in still photography, you are captured at one point in time. Unlike video, that one moment in time freezes your persona forever. If you come across as nervous, sad, negative, insincere, etc... it can affect how people perceive you. On the other hand if you come across as happy, inviting, hospitable, sincere, etc... it can boost your business. Lighting and gesture help form the right kind of perceptions. I've posted two images of recent head shot session for comparison (the before images were posted on a web site). This in no way should be taken in any manner other than examining the images and seeing which one you like. The one you like will probably determine which business you select and patronize. Which doctor looks more knowledgeable and caring? Which lawyer looks more trustworthy? Which teacher looks more hospitable and loving? These perceptions help us make decisions that are important (sending our child to school, going through a lawsuit, battling cancer or medical issue). I could write more, but I think the point was made.... These images speak for themselves.

A True Role Model...

I finally had the opportunity to photograph a highly respected High School Football Coach that I've been wanting to photograph for the last several years. I've known him since I was in High School, where he left a huge impression on me in an unusual situation. He came onto our bus after we defeated his state ranked team and congratulated us. In my 13 year football career (plus an additional 6 years coaching), no one has ever repeated that feat. It effected me so much that he was the first person I called when I was deciding whether to go into private school teaching or public school teaching. Anyways, he is a man of integrity and someone I would want my son to play for. When you look in society for a person to look up to, and be a role model, Coach Streety can't be overlooked. You can read more about him on our website, and on our facebook page as well. I love my job....

Sarah, Plain, and Tall....

Sarah came to us from Steele HS. She is anything but plain, however, she is really tall (5'10" to be exact) and she has these incredible, I mean phenomenal blue eyes (they look just like the images, no kidding). She's is our senior rep from Steele HS (get to work girl (;-) ), so you've seen her once before on our blog. She plans on attending Texas Tech (Get Your Guns Up, whoop), where she just got accepted and she'll be study nursing. I see Sarah fitting right in with that profession. Even though she's not your typical cheerleader (the stereotypical loud, outgoing, etc...), she seems reserved, humble, sweet, and honest. She has a heart of gold, so she'll bless many, many patients in her lifetime. Here's a gimpse into her life...

After graduation: attend Texas Tech and study nursing
A Dinner Guest of her choice: my Grandpa (mom's dad), he passed away before I met him
One Wish: equality and happiness in the world
One thing to do to Impact the World: impact at least one person's life positively
Favorite Song: "Crazy Girl" or "Find Your Wings" or "You're in America" or "Springsteen"
Favorite Quote: "She is clothed with strength and dignity and she laughs without fear of the future" - Proverbs 31:25

Here are some more images of her on our site in video format. Sarah, what can I say? You are a true beauty, and to me that means, your insides exceed your outsides. My wish for you is that you continue to be yourself, and live out your favorite quote. Your future is bright, and it truly was a blessing attempting to capture your personality.

Books, Brothers, and a Bugle (Trumpet)...

Xavier came to us from Madison HS. We had the privilege of photographing his two older brothers. Now we've completed the entire family of brother's senior portraits (what an honor). Xavier loves to study, especially math. He's ranked in the top 10% of his graduating class, and wants to attend A&M. He's also in the Band. He plays the trumpet (forgive me for calling it a bugle, but hey, it had to fit in with the B's). Xavier is a character, none of the boys in the family are alike. They all have such different personalities, but are all very respectful and well-mannered (great job Eva). Here's a little glimpse into what Xavier is all about.

After graduation: Have a great summer before college
A Dinner Guest of her choice: Albert Einstein, because I bet he's fun
One Wish: that everyone in the world could be happy
One thing to do to Impact the World: help everyone have at least a good day everyday.
Favorite Song: "Come to the River" by Rhett Walker Band
Favorite Quote: "I think, therefore I am" Rene DesCartes

Here are some more images of him on our site in video format. Xavier your future is bright, brighter than most, keep grounded in your faith, for the future will test it, and when you remain faithful, you will come forth as gold.

Cheering On the Troops....

We had the privilege of photographing the Randolph Varsity Cheer group last week. We had a blast and the girls seemed to have a lot of fun too.... A special thanks to Taylor's mom for helping put this together. Here's a video from the session. Just think if it weren't for cheerleaders, we'd have no one to cheer us up..... ;-)

Contest Winner....

Occasionally I'll enter a photo contest just to see how my images compare to others and see judging styles and tastes in photographs. This one just came across my screen as I was surfing the internet. Not even thinking about winning, I received an email from the contest sponsor informing me that one of my images won the contest. There were almost 5,500 entries. Not only that, but the contest sponsor told me that my 2nd entry got an honorable mention. Pretty cool.... Here's the link if you're interested in reading more about the contest and seeing other entry winners.

Strong and stable base...

Sarah comes to us from Steele HS. She's going to be our CK rep this school year. She's bright, intelligent, outgoing, and a beautiful young lady. Did I mention she's a cheerleader, and not just any cheerleader, but a strong, 5'10" cheerleader. You don't see many of those now-a-days. She's the strong and stable base of the pyramid. The trustworthy one of the group. Kinda like her personality. Her future aspirations are to attend TTU (fingers crossed), where she eventually wants to become a nurse. I'm sure you'll be seeing more of her in the future. ;)

Sarah & Jeremy...

got hitched a few weeks ago. We've known Sarah since she was a little girl. She grew up across the street from us. We also photographed Sarah's senior portraits and while back and it's an honor to be commissioned to photograph such a special event in her life. Watching some one grow up and then getting the opportunity to capture their special day is truly a privilege. The wedding day went just as planned and the two were off on their honeymoon. Here's a short video from the day... Enjoy....

Mr. & Mrs. Woods....

Stephanie and Michael got hitched a few weeks ago. Their wedding was at the Kendall Plantation outside of Boerne, TX. The venue and wedding couldn't have gone on any better for the both of them. Michelle says that there couldn't be a more handsome and beautiful couple on the planet. I wonder what their children will look like? Anyway, we captured many fantastic images from the day and wanted to share a few in a short video. Michael and Stephanie your wedding was one of our favorites in a long time. The only thing that could have been different is that time would've slowed down, it went by way too fast. May your marriage be one of commitment, joy, and most importantly, love (the real kind).

Future Star?

Ellie Kate came to us for some Acting Headshots. She won a pageant and needed some comp cards made for a couple possible movie parts. The movie people requested a red head. One look and there's no question she fits that requirement. Her blue eyes look like marbles in the right light and when she gives you the look, she's simply stunning. Did I mention her cute and bubbly personality? What's not to like? Ellie Kate and her mom had a fun time and we enjoyed their company. They loved the images as well. Hopefully, if EK gets an acting role from these images, we were so glad to help.

Miss Kayla...

came to us from Johnson HS. We photographed her sister a few years ago, and if the Lord allows it, we might photograph her younger sister in the future. Kayla plays softball for Johnson HS. They made a great playoff run this year (so much so, we had to reschedule our session numerous times). Kayla is athletic, caring, a bit shy, but can be a little sassy too. Her mom says she's the princess of the group. During the session, her mom was in charge of the bubbles. During one of the portraits her mom created a powerful stream of bubbles and Kayla was covered in soapy bubbles. We all had a good time and the images turned out fantabulous. More about her:

After graduation: Go to college, maybe the medical field
A Dinner Guest of her choice: Justin Bieber, because he's hot
One Wish: be forever young
One thing to do to Impact the World: help provide resources to everyone (world wide) for education equal opportunites for learning
Favorite Song: "My Wish" by Rascal Flats
Favorite Quote: "I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me" Phil. 4:13

Here are some more images of her on our site, and click here to see a short video from the session. Kayla, you love to have fun and your joyful spirit will only enhance the experience for others. We need more fun in life, so never lose your joy and ability to make others laugh and smile.

Gimme a "T" for Taylor

Taylor will be our RHS CK Rep for next school year. Back in the Fall we did some Homecoming Dance Portraits for some of the RHS students and she liked us enough to call us. The moment you meet her, her outgoing personality draws you in. Her smile is infectious and she's very down to earth. Did I mention she's a cheerleader (probably where she gets her spunkiness from). She also loves to dance (can't you tell by the incredible dance move in the image below?). Anyway, we hope she'll be a great Rep for us this coming school year. You'll be seeing more of her in the future.... For now, enjoy the cool image.

Madison Dollies...

It's hard to believe it's that time of year again. We've been photographing the Madison Dollies for 10 years now. Every year it's always fun to see all the girls get excited and spunky. They practice their creative moves for the final image. This year we had 5 groups do actual jumps. One of the groups went to jump and the paper shifted, the look on their faces was priceless. Everyone got a laugh when I showed them the captured image. Anyway, the images turned out fantanstic and we all had a good time. The one thing that's rewarding about doing what I do is that I get to create moments that will be cherished for many, many years to come. This one is no exception. Here's a short video from the session... Feel free to leave and comment and tell us what you think.... Enjoy...

Giving to Save a Life....

We had the privilege of photographing the Resources for Woman Fundraising Banquet last month. The event raised over $90,000 to help fund a purely, publically-funded clinic for women. The food was great and the entertainment and speaker were wonderful as well. But the coolest thing was the live sonagram performed during the event. As the physician performed the sonagram, he showed the audience the intricate details of a 4 month old baby still in the womb. Seeing the little hands and feet, the tiny face, and the heart beat was incredible. The event was the first for this clinic, and hopefully first of many more to come. People in this world spend their money on so many different kinds of things, but just imagine, if some of that was spent on things that really matter. Like LIFE.... There's nothing like seeing the beating heart of an unborn human being, well maybe holding your own child minutes after being born. Life is a gift... yesterday is the past, tomorrow is the future, but TODAY is the PRESENT. Here's a video from that evening.

Miss Peppie Part Deux....

Rachel came back for her official senior portrait session. You can read more about her first session here. We've had the privilege of getting to know her this year and I must say, she is one of the nicest, down-to-earth, young people I know. Her session covered two days, a creek, field of flowers with bees, and the swing. We got some really great images, and had a good time in the process. More about her:

After graduation: attend UTSA in the Fall of 2014 and major in PreMed to become an Optometrist
A Dinner Guest of her choice: My Grandmother Ma, she passed away a couple of years ago
One Wish: to go on another cruise
Favorite Song: "God Girl" by Jamie Grace
Favorite Quote: "I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus" -Phil. 3:14

Here are some more images of her on our site, and click here to see a short video from the session. Rachel, as your mom always says, "You are fearfully and wonderfully made". What you are is God's gift to you. Who you become is your gift to God. So far you've been a great gift. I don't see any reason why you won't become a great mom, and big influence at whatever profession you choose, because your spirit and personality are magnetic. Always remember FEDEX... ;)

It's Complicated....

McKayla is a senior at Clemens HS. She is definitely one-of-a-kind. Her quick-wittedness and boldness to speak her mind set her apart from the crowd. She wants to study nursing in college, but not sure where as of yet. In describing McKayla you'd have to use the following adjectives: talkative, complicated, social, witty, and bold. I would also say she's a realist. The explanation for the title is when I asked McKayla several questions, she answered, "It's complicated", each time. So I guess, "She's complicated". We got along great because I can relate to her personality (hint, hint). We had a fun time capturing her personality and got some great images too....

After graduation: Nursing school, not sure where yet?
A Dinner Guest of her choice: My mom, I can vent to her
One Wish: to drive a BMW
One thing to do to Impact the World: show kids that it all works out eventually, and to never give up
Favorite Song: "Summertime Sadness" by Lana Del Rey
Favorite Quote: "The party never stops"

Here are some more images of her on our site, and click here to see a short video from the session. McKayla, you have a lot of spunk and intelligence. We hope you find an avenue that allows you the latitude to fully express yourself and help others. Your career path is an honorable profession, may it bring you many rewards in life.....

On to the Next Level....

Kyle is a soon to be graduate of Madison HS. He is a football player, and an avid outdoors man. This year the team made it one game away from the state championship, and he was a big part of it. Kyle has plans to play football at the next level in College in Oklahoma. He is funny, outgoing, intelligent, spontaneous, and friendly. The part of the session I'll remember most is taking him in the woods for the hunting images. My son and I got chiggers (forgot to spray). The images turned out, so I guess the sacrifice was worth it..... More about him:

After graduation: Attending Oklahoma Panhandle State University to play football
A Dinner Guest of her choice: My grandma because she passed away a month before I was born
One Wish: have an opportunity to play in the NFL
One thing to do to Impact the World: put an end to bullying
Favorite Song: "Stomping Grounds" by JJ Lawhorn
Favorite Quote: "Don't be afraid to stand for what you believe in, even if it means standing alone"

Here are some more images of him on our site, and click here to see a short video from the session. Kyle, you have a great opportunity to pursue your dreams. Stay focused, and persevere, and you'll find contentment and satisfaction in life.

Miss Tommi-Lynn....

is a senior at Churchill HS. She came out last year with one of her friends for her senior portraits and remembered us when it came time for her own. Tommi-Lynn is a bubbly, talkative, positive, happy, and creative, young lady. She doesn't know what she wants to study in college, but she has plans to attend Texas State in the Fall. Tommi-Lynn is a multi-talented individual. She plays the violin (winning awards) and is very articulate. We share the common bond of being quick-witted (comebacks come easy for us). There were many things I'll remember about the session, but hands down it has to be going down to the creek with her violin. The images turned out great, and hopefully, she likes 'em as much as we do. More about her:

After graduation: Attending Texas State University
A Dinner Guest of her choice: My Aunt Joan-Kay, to meet her and to experience what a wonderful woman she was
One Wish: to live a fulfilling, happy life with the ones I love
One thing to do to Impact the World: to positively change just one person's life would impact the world greatly
Favorite Song: "The Girl" by City and Colour
Favorite Quote: "Never love anybody who treats you like you're ordinary"

Here are some more images of her on our site, and click here to see a short video from the session. Tommi-Lynn, you are a breath of fresh air. Your diligence and determination will get you far in life. It's so great to see someone who has handled adversity and come out on top. The sky is the limit for you, and along with your smile, we have no doubts that you'll make it in this life. You are a joy to be around....

Little Miss Doctor....

Aundrea came to us from Brennan HS. She found us online. She wants to become a Dermatologist after her education is finished. Aundrea is classy, shy, disciplined, studious, and full of life. Her spontaneous personality really shined during the session. She loves New York, so of course, we had to incorporate that into her session, so we took a trip to Times Square all in a matter of minutes riding the magical PS bus. The one thing I'll remember about Aundrea is how close she is to her family. She's well-rounded, thanks to a great mom and dad. The images turned out fantabulous and we can only hope she thinks the same. More about her:

After graduation: Study Biology (PreMed) in College, and become a Doctor specializing in Dermatology
A Dinner Guest of her choice: My grandmother because I never met her
One Wish: to be fulfilled with and in everything I do
One thing to do to Impact the World: I want to try my best to help people who are in poverty; try to end poverty
Favorite Song: "Always Be My Baby" by Mariah Carey
Favorite Quote: "Perfectly Imperfect" and "I accept myself for all that I was, for all that I am, and all that I ever will be, for I am fabulous every step of the way darling"

Here are some more images of her on our site, and click here to see a short video from the session. Aundrea, you are a bundle of joy. Even though you are reserved and shy around acquaintances, you have enough personality for two people. Stick with your dream of becoming a Doctor and we know you will touch the lives of every single patient you see and leave your mark on this world.

Miss Mykiala...

came to us from Judson HS. She saw the images we did of several of her friends and decided we were the ones for her senior portraits. Mykiala (pronounced ME-KI-A-LA) is a bold, outgoing, and an independent, young lady. She wants to study Marine Biology in Collage and help be a good steward of planet earth. Mykiala was funny, she needed a little direction but when she put on her happy face her electric smile would grab your attention. We got some great images of her, so I hope she likes 'em too. More about her:

After graduation: Study Marine Biology in College, and become a Marine Biologist
A Dinner Guest of her choice: My maternal grandmother, since I was never able to meet her
One Wish: to not have to worry about where life is going to take me
One thing to do to Impact the World: help end homelessness
Favorite Song: "Pink Matter" by Frank Ocean
Favorite Quote: "I think the thing to do is enjoy the ride while you're on it" - Johnny Depp

Here are some more images of her on our site, and click here to see a short video from the session. Mykiala, there's something about you that I like. I can't quite put my finger on it, just that I feel we share a common bond. Your character has been shaped by your past (like mine), and it's made you into a beautiful young lady that has a dream in life that we feel will be achieved, if you stay focused and press on. Don't ever forget where you came from, and where you are going, and in the process be grateful to all that help you along the way.

An Afternoon with Tiffany....

Tiffany is a senior at Reagan HS. She's funny, outgoing, hyper, talkative, and creative. She loves photography, so in her pursuit of higher education, she'll most likely major in Fine Arts or Business (hint hint to run your photog business). Tiffany brought her dog Bailey to the studio. He was a big chunk of a dog, but so darn cute and well behaved. Every time I looked at him, I saw this puppy face on a huge dog body. Anyway, Tiffany wanted images with him, since he is her favorite photographic subject. By the way, she had these really cool images of him from her photography class that were impressive (showing off her creative side). The thing that stood out about Tiffany (besides her cute personality) was her gorgeous green eyes. We were on the swing and the light hit them just right, and shazaaaam, popping off the sensor of my camera. We got some really phenomenal images of her, and we hope she likes 'em as much as we do. More about her:

After graduation: Study in College, photography or business
A Dinner Guest of her choice: Luke Bryan, because I love his music
One Wish: to become a professional photographer
One thing to do to Impact the World: recycle, take care of our planet
Favorite Song: Anything from Luke Bryan
Favorite Quote: "When writing the story of your life, don't let anyone else hold the pen"

Here are some more images of her on our site, and click here to see a short video from the session. Tiffany, you are living proof that there is a Creator. You're uniquely designed, one-of-a-kind, beautiful, young lady. You're full of life, creatively gifted, and I know for certain, that whatever you choose to do in life, you'll make an impact and leave an impression that people won't forget.

Somerset in the Spring....

Somerset is a senior at Smithson Valley HS. She plays on the Soccer team. She'll be graduating soon and off to study in College. Her future plans are to eventually own her own restaurant (she loves to cook). Somerset is a natural beauty. She's athletic, intelligent, driven, nurturing, humorous, and energetic. The part of the session I'll remember most is when we were down at the creek. I had an idea of her kicking a soccer ball in the water. It took precise coordination and timing among the three of us. Two attempts was all that it took (thanks Dad), perfect shot. Her composites also turned out fantabulous. We love the images and hope she does too. More about her:

After graduation: Study business in College, eventually own and run her own restaurant
A Dinner Guest of her choice: My Grandmother
Favorite Song: "I Want Crazy" - Hunter Hayes
Favorite Quote: "Inch by inch life's a cinch, yard by yard life is hard" - my 4th grade teacher & "No one can make you feel inferior without your permission"

Here are some more images of her on our site, and click here to see a short video from the session. Somerset, you are a beautiful young lady. I think you have a good perspective on life (due to a close-knit family), and hope your dreams come true raising a family and cooking up your own "mixtures" for others in your restaurant.

Down to Earth...

Ania came to us from Reagan HS. She saw one of her friends that we photographed and gave us the privilege of photographing her senior portraits. Ania is undecided on what she wants to study in college, but she does know where she wants to attend (Ole Miss). Ania is bubbly, optimistic, determined, funny, and sweet. The thing that stood out about her during the session is her dedication to her family and her very personable spirit. She is so easy to talk to, I mean you could just pull up a chair and chat for hours with her. She loves her family tremendously, and specifically told us that she and her mother are joined at the hip (inseparable). The wind was crazy (a photographer's favorite type of weather, not...), but good thing my boys were available to hold a self-made wind blocker. The session worked out and we got some great images of Ania. More about her:

After graduation: Study at the University of Mississippi, possibly communications
A Dinner Guest of her choice: Billy Collins, love his poetry, he's very funny
One Wish: to be happy with my family, and no worries
One thing to do to Impact the World: (left blank) we will just have to wait and see
Favorite Song: "White Dress" - Ben Rector
Favorite Quote: "And this above all; to thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man" - William Shakespeare

Here are some more images of her on our site, and click here to see a short video from the session. Ania, even though your college roommate search is kinda like a dating service, and you're getting nervous about your selected new roommate, it's just because you're so special. All the things that are important to you, are things others only wish they could have (a close-knit family, your education, a numerous other things you mentioned). You are a beautiful and friendly young lady, and your passion for others in life will get you further than most.

An Unpretentious Beauty....

Victoria comes to us from Randolph HS. When you see her, she's the female version of Clark Kent (aka Superman). She wears glasses, doesn't draw attention to herself. But when she dresses up, WOW, stunning! Victoria wants to continue her education at the University level. Not sure of what she wants do in life, but whatever she decides, everyone will enjoy being around her. She's optimistic, out-going, talkative, hyper, giggly, and intelligent. The session turned out far better than we expected. The weather was cool and wet all day. The minute she arrived the temps increased 10 degrees and the sun peeked in and out from the clouds. It's like her joyful spirit parted the skies and warmed up the area. Victoria may not be a flower-kind-of-girl, but one things for sure, she's a true beauty. I think some of her portraits are my favorites so far this year. More about her:

After graduation: Study in College, possibly forensics
A Dinner Guest of her choice: My Dad, to make up for lost time and grow and bond closer together
One Wish: visit and live in England for a while
One thing to do to Impact the World: help the less fortunate and starving beings in other parts of the world
Favorite Song: "All of Me" - John Legend
Favorite Quote: "Love the life you have, live the life you love"

Here are some more images of her on our site, and click here to see a short video from the session. Victoria, you are a breath of fresh air. Your joyful spirit and out-going personality will win you many loyal friends in the future. As long as you stay focused, and take that little break when needed (best advice you received), people will love to be around you. May your future be as bright and beautiful as you are.

Future Builder....

Nadine is a senior at the Construction Careers Academy at Warren HS. She's in love with "building". At her school, they are actually building a home. Where's was this kind of thing when I was in school? We photographed Nadine's Quinceanera portraits, so she trusts us enough for her once-in-a-lifetime, senior portraits. Nadine is smart, funny, caring, hardworking, and very respectful. She wants to attend Texas A&M University and study Architecture and Construction. Her dream is to own her own business some day, as a project manager. I have no reservations about her achieving her goals. Her parents have been tremendous role models for her, and you can clearly see in her mannerisms, her determination and rapport with people was modeled by authentic people who have "walked the walk". The interesting story from our session was when she put on her construction attire. We were at the Pearl Brewery, where's it's being rebuilt. In the back (by the river) the building is walled-off and under construction. Many of the construction workers and project managers were walking by and looking at here like, "What are you doing standing around, taking pictures? Get to work!" She could have walked right into the restricted area and fit right in. Kind of funny. We got some great images, hope they like 'em.... More about her:

After graduation: Study Architecture and Construction at Texas A&M University
A Dinner Guest of her choice: America Ferrera (actress), I liked her movies
One Wish: To have my own company someday
One thing to do to Impact the World: I want to be an international building company that provides affordable, green, and quality structures across the globe
Favorite Song: "Kryptonite" - 3 Doors Down
Favorite Quote: "Suck It Up"

Here are some more images of her on our site, and click here to see a short video from the session. Nadine, I have no doubt that you will succeed as a Builder and own your own company someday. You will impact and influence many people in your lifetime. Never forget the respect you display toward people now and where you came from. Do this and the sky is the limit. Oh, and remember us when you need images of your projects (we do architecture and real estate photography too)....

The Music Man....

Jacobus came to us from Marion HS. Yes his name is a little different, but that's what makes him so unique, he's one of a kind. He is multi-talented. He plays the saxophone and the ukelele (hope I spelled that right, it's a fancy one). Jacobus wants to study aeronautical engineering in college and later become a pilot in the Marines (tough dude). The thing that really stood out about him was his silliness. He's creative, enthusiastic, empathetic, and of course (according to him) goofy and forgetful. And boy can he contort his eyebrows many different ways. We all had a good time, and he even played the sax and ukelele for us (what a treat). Forgot to mention, his favorite superhero, Green Lantern (visit our site and see images of him in character). Here's more about him:

After graduation: Study Aeronautical Engineering in College and join the US Marines and become a pilot
A Dinner Guest of his choice: Adolph Hitler - although he was a bad person, he was an amazing leader. To be able to convince an entire country to believe that they are the best in the world. And then further lead them into WWll.
One Wish: To be able to play any instrument I touch
One thing to do to Impact the World: Preach and Teach

A Man and His Dog...

Derek came to us from Madison HS. We photographed his brother a couple of years ago, so to hold true to our client loyalty, he came to us for his senior portraits. Derek is a talented, tough-as-nails wrestler. He wants to attend college and study Marine Biology, then later join the Coast Guard. A funny story from the session was when we were trying to get his dog to look at the camera. We'd make all kinds of noises, but it wasn't until she saw one of our many neighborhood cats run across the field that she perked up and posed perfectly. Derek loves his dog, you can surely see it in the images. We had a good time and we hope Derek and his family love the images, we certainly do.... More about him:

After graduation: Study Marine Biology in College and join the US Coast Guard
A Dinner Guest of his choice: Brock Lesnar (a great Wrestler)
One Wish: To be very wealthy so I can take care of my family and myself
One thing to do to Impact the World: to purify any type of water anywhere
Favorite Song: "Highway Man" -Country, "6 Foot 7 Foot" -Rap, & "Thunder Underground" -Rock
Favorite Quote: "Get up and train while your opponent is sleeping" - J. Rob

Here are some more images of him on our site, and click here to see a short video from the session. Derek, may your aspirations to join the US Coast Guard take you to places you've always dreamed of, and make an impact to better the world.....

Lego Lad....

Brenden came to us from New Braunfels HS. He's a gamer through and through. He also loves Legos, playing his instrument, and any thing to do with computers. He's quiet, imaginative, friendly, smart, and funny. He wants to be a computer programmer in life. I see him fitting right in with that profession. Brenden was a great sport. His mom wanted us to create his senior portraits for a while. She saw images we did from a senior a few years ago and decided we were the "chosen ones" for Brenden's special portraits. My jokes didn't seem to have the normal effect on Brenden (every one usually laughs hysterically) but I did find the funny phrase for him, "Guy on Buffalo". Between chatting about Mass Effect, and getting to see some of his Lego creations, we had a fun time, and created some amazing images of him. Hopefully, they like 'em. Here's more about Brenden:

After graduation: Study Computer Programming in College
A Dinner Guest of his choice: Lewis & Simon - The Yogcast, Seran - Mass Effect, & Jodie - Beyond Two Souls
One Wish: Travel through Time
One thing to do to Impact the World: Save the World from senient machines
Favorite Song: "Let Her Go" by Passenger, "Demons" by Imagine Dragons, & "10,000 Reasons" by Matt Redmond
Favorite Quote: "You exist because we allow it and you will end because we demand it" - Harbinger - Mass Effect

Here are some more images of him on our site, and click here to see a short video from the session. Brenden, may your imagination and computer skills help make this world a better place. Enjoy....

Miss Katelyn...

will be our CK 2014-15 Senior rep at Clemens HS next year. We've known her since she was a wee-little one. If you met her parents you'd be asking yourself, "where's the beautiful red hair from?". You'll have to ask her, 100% natural. They say redheads have a fiery temper, Katelyn puts this myth to rest. She the sweetest, most loving teenager you'll ever meet (I guess I'm a little biased). Anyway, I was searching on the internet for something and came across a quote perfect for her. So Katelyn, here goes, "Your hair is beautiful, like the sun shining on Beyoncé’s smile". The image below is taken next door to us. Our neighbor has this pear tree that blooms beautiful white flowers every Spring. It usually doesn't last long, so I knew we had to photograph it. The only problem was a cold front came in. Well, with the magic of PS, I got the shot I wanted... You'll be seeing more of her in the future, for sure....

Mr. Football....

Hunter will be graduating from Johnson HS this Spring. He's the quarterback on the state semi-finalist football team. He's ranked in the top 10% of his graduating class. And did I mention he actually likes his parents (an anomaly for the teenage years). Hunter's mom was so excited for us to capture His personality in his portraits. She said that she's been waiting for Hunter to become a senior so we could create his portraits. It's good to know that our work is appreciated and held in high esteem. Anyway, Hunter is all about football. He plans on playing in college (Wreck 'em Tech) where he also wants to study engineering. The one thing that stood out to me about him, was his maturity and outlook on life. He's was grateful for his parents, and takes his studies very seriously. I asked him what advice he would give himself if he could go back and be a Freshman again. He told us to take your studies seriously. My son was listening, so hopefully it didn't fall on deaf ears. We had a fun time, and I must say, Hunter's mom is a ball of energy, so much so I couldn't believe what she did on the trampoline. Here's more about Hunter:

After graduation: Study Engineering and play football in College
A Dinner Guest of his choice: Johnny Manziel
One Wish: Free food for life
One thing to do to Impact the World: Eliminate Bullying
Favorite Song: "Mud on the Tires" by Brad Paisley
Favorite Quote: Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ Who gives me strength"

Here are some more images of him on our site, and click here to see a short video from the session. Hunter, you are a very respectful young man. Thanks for being the leader and role model you are. Enjoy....

Southern Belle...

Gigi is going to be our 2015 Canyon HS Senior Rep. She wants to attend college somewhere in the South. She would love to be an event coordinator or something along those lines. She loves everything about Southern Hospitality, and we think she'll fit right in. She's a beautiful young lady with a million dollar smile. If you are ever in here presence, watch out, when she smiles it's contagious. We hope Gigi will be a great rep for us this coming school year... The image below is one of my favs from our mini-session yesterday. I'm sure you'll be seeing more of her in the future.

Miss Jordan S.

Jordan came to us from Randolph HS. We photographed her sister last year, so she knew where she wanted to get her portraits done. Jordan is a sweet & beautiful young lady. She wants to pursue a nursing career in college and eventually raise a family. Jordan was so excited when she came that you couldn't help but get excited too. She did her own makeup and I must say, she looked absolutely stunning. The images turned out fantabulous.

After graduation: Studying Nursing in College
A Dinner Guest of her choice: a family member she has never met before
One Wish: To make sure my loved ones are safe and protected, God always watching over them
One thing to do to Impact the World: try to put an end to homelessness, everyone deserves a home and to be happy
Favorite Song: "Wake Me Up" by Avicii
Favorite Quote: Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ Who gives me strength" and 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8 "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away."

Here are some more images of her on our site, and click here to see a short video from the session. Jordan, you are a wonderful young lady, and we hope your future is as bright as you are. Enjoy....

A Country Chic Wedding...

Lauren and Holden got hitched last Saturday in the Texas Hill Country. The weather was perfect, the setting was even better, and the festivities completed the Country Chic themed wedding day. We enjoyed the event and the images captured the essence of the day. We wish Lauren and Holden a lifetime of love, joy, and hope. Whoop!!! (A&M graduate)... Here's a short video highlighting the day. Enjoy...
